Michael D. Facchini, Esq.
Michael graduated from Western New England College of Law in May, 1998 and was sworn into the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a practicing Attorney in November, 1998. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Biology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1993. Following his graduation from Umass, Amherst, Michael continued his advanced studies at Westfield State College in Education. He taught Special Education in both the Springfield School Public High School system and a private High School in Holyoke, Massachusetts for two years prior to entering law school in 1995.
During Michael’s second year of law school, he interned at the City of Springfield, Law Department for two years. Michael worked directly and under the guidance of Attorney Eugene Mulchaey, City Solicitor Peter Fenton and the now Honorable Patrcia Poelher. In 1998, the City of Springfield Law Department offered Michael a position as Associate City Solicitor, in which he accepted and worked for the City through early 2001. Michael was the lead Attorney for all of the City of Springfield’s workers’ compensation claims and handled matters with Senior legal counsel on many cases in Superior Court. Additionally, Michael Clerked for the Honorable Justice Daniel Swords in the Holyoke Juvenile Court system for six months during his third year of law school.
In 2001, Michael joined his two brothers, Richard and Anthony in now what has become a first generation family law firm. Michael is a practicing civil litigator and has been very successful in Superior Court, District Court and the Department of Industrial Accidents over the past nine years. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as being a member of the United States Federal Bar. He is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Hampden County Bar Association, Committee for Public Counsel Services, the American Bar Association and National Association of Criminal Defense.
Michael is a member of the Springfield YMCA for over twenty years, and his other areas of interest include National Geographic, Defenders of Wildlife, World Wildlife Fund, and international travels.
