| Summary |
|
The victim was a hard working mother of two. On December 24th, 2007, at approximately 6 o’clock in the morning,
the victim’s car broke down and she was left with no other option but to park her car on the side of the entry ramp
with her emergency lights on. Suddenly without warning another vehicle, admittedly trying to merge lanes,
slammed into the rear of her vehicle, causing significant damage.
The reporting office to the scene remarked that there was serious damage to both vehicles.
The victim was taken to the hospital complaining of neck and back injuries.
Upon arrival it was determined the victim had suffered significant lower back injuries.
It was the conclusion that the accident had caused the victim to develop lower back pain,
accompanied by pain and numbness in the victim’s left leg. Further evaluation showed aggravation
of a pre-existing unilateral L5-S1 spondylolysis. For several weeks she was forced to undergo
numerous painful treatments and she will never fully recover.
Due to this motor vehicle accident the victim has been totally disabled and not able to work in any fashion.
The case was settled for $250,000 due to the victim’s insurance policy limits.
